Abstract:In order to study the effect of warm mixing technology on low temperature cracking resistance of the crumb rubber asphalt mixture(CR MA) under salt and freeze thaw cycles, the warm mixed crumb rubber asphalt mixture(CR WMA) and the hot mixed crumb rubber asphalt mixture(CR HMA) were used as the research object. The low temperature bending and bending creep tests of small beam asphalt mixture test piece under different salt mass fraction(0%, 4%, 8%, 12%) and freeze thaw cycles(0, 5, 10, 15,20times) were used to compare the attenuation of the low temperature property of two CR MA by the indicators of bending strain energy density and bending creep rate. The effect of CR MA low temperature performance was studied after adding SDYK surfactant type warm mix additive(the mass fraction was 06% of the matrix asphalt). The results show that bending strain energy density and bending creep rate of two CR MA all decrease after salt and freeze thaw cycles, and the low temperature cracking resistance reduces. With increasing the number of salt and freeze thaw cycles, the variation range of all indexes of CR WMA is smaller than that of CR HMA, which means the low temperature cracking resistance of CR WMA is better than CR HMA. When the deicing salt mass fraction is 8%, the damage of CR MA is the most serious.
