Abstract:The bond properties of epoxy coated reinforcement(ER) to seawater coral concretes(SCC) was studied by the pull out test. The changes of bond strength and bond slip curve of specimens with different concrete types(ordinary concrete and SCC), strengths(C25,C35), anchorage lengths(48, 90, 128mm), reinforcement types(ordinary reinforcement and ER) and cover thickness(67,42mm) were obtained. Test results indicate that the bond strength of ER to SCC is different from that of ER to reinforced ordinary concrete. The failure pattern is split failure. The bond strength of SCC is higher than that of ordinary concrete, and it increases with the increase of concrete strength and cover thickness. However, the influence of anchorage length on bond strength is negative. It is shown that typical effect of cover thickness on bond strength is obvious. The bond slip curves of epoxy coated reinforced seawater coral concretes(ERSCC) are divided into micro slip, slip and declining stages. Types of reinforcement and concrete significantly influence the characteristics of bond slip curve. Finally, an analytical formula for calculating the bond strength of ERSCC is established. The calculated values are in line with the real ones, which can be used in the practical engineering.
