Abstract:Considering the poor workability and strength of traditional pervious concrete, nanosilica blended pervious concrete was prepared to study the influence of nanosilica on fresh and hardened properties of pervious concrete. The results show that nanosilica can improve cohesion of fresh cement paste in pervious concrete, preventing it from flowing downward. The rheological test results show that plastic viscosity will be increased by 6474% with 100% mass fraction of nanosilica and thixotropic loop area will reach 23596%. Compressive strength of pervious concrete can be improved via getting higher strength paste with nanosilica, however, no obvious increase of pervious concrete strength observed when the mass fraction of nanosilica exceed 050%. Slightly better connected porosity and hydrological permeability are achieved in the presence of nanosilica, which may be ascribed to the more uniform distribution of paste and pore in the vertical direction in pervious concrete with nanosilica.
