Abstract:The paving performances of matrix asphalt , high modulus modified asphalt and SBS modified asphalt were studied. Through the conventional rheological test, the influence of high modulus asphalt additives and SBS modifiers on the viscoelastic properties of matrix asphalt were compared and the effects of different additives on the paving performance of matrix asphalt were quantitatively analyzed. Through multiple stress creep recovery test, the difference and effect of high modulus asphalt additive and SBS modifier were compared in improving bituminous rutting resistance of matrix asphalt. Based on the accelerated fatigue test method, the fatigue damage and failure characteristics of three kinds of asphalt binders were compared, and the difference of fatigue process evolution and fatigue life between different asphalt binders was analyzed. The results show that RA and PR high modulus additive have a similar effect in improving asphalt binder stiffness modulus, the perpetual deformation resistance of three kinds of asphalt binder under the same test temperature is: high modulus modified asphalt is the highest, followed by SBS modified asphalt, and the matrix asphalt is the lowest, and the fatigue life of three kinds of asphalt binder is: SBS modified asphalt is the highest, followed by high modulus modified asphalt, and the matrix asphalt is the lowest. In addition, under the condition of using the same matrix asphalt, the high modulus modified asphalt with RA has better fatigue resistance than the high modulus modified asphalt with PR.
