Abstract:In order to study the influence of the corrosion of stirrups on the confined concrete performance, stirrups in concrete specimens were subjected to an accelerated galvanic corrosion process. The uniaxial compressive properties of reinforced concrete with different corrosion rate of stirrups were investigated. Testing results show that bearing capacity, stiffness and ductility of the confined concrete are reduced in different degrees, with the increase of the corrosion rate of stirrups; the stress strain constitutive relation model under uniaxial compression is proposed based on the existing research results, which is in good agreement with the measured curve.
