In order to compare the pavement performance of two kinds of asphalt mixtures with the continuous paving and discontinuous paving, two kinds of double layer Marshall specimens and two layer rut specimens were prepared with different gradation combinations by simulating on site construction methods at the same time. The performance tests of splitting, shearing, bending of asphalt mixture with different paving methods were carried out under the conditions of normal temperature, low temperature and freeze thaw. The test results show that the pavement performance of double layer continuous paving asphalt mixture is better than that of the discontinuous paving asphalt mixture.
