A super hydrophobic coating was prepared by surface modification of silicon rubber and micro/nano scale powders. The effect of this super hydrophobic coating on the deicing performance of asphalt pavement was investigated. The contact angle test results show that the contact angle of this super hydrophobic coating is 160°.The freezing temperature test results of asphalt mixture show that the freezing time of water droplet on the asphalt mixture with the super hydrophobic coating is delayed by 15 times than that on the asphalt mixture without coating under the same cooling environment. The adhesion force test results indicate that the adhesion force of surface ice on the asphalt mixture with the super hydrophobic coating is reduced by 84% than that on the asphalt mixture without coating when the environmental temperature is -5℃.
