Effects of sintering system on the mineral composition and properties of aggregates prepared by electroplating sludge rich in Cr, Zn and other heavy metals were studied. The sintering mechanism of anti radiation functional aggregate prepared by electroplating sludge was discussed. The anti radiation functional aggregates with γ ray shielding performance were successfully prepared by precalcination calcination. The linear weakness coefficient(μ) of 0662MeV γ ray for the aggregates was greater than or equal to 0220cm-1. Single grain compressive strength was greater than or equal to 500MPa, and bulk density was 260g/cm3. The leaching concentration of heavy metals could meet the environmental security requirements.
