Abstract:Thermodynamic theory and measurement principle of inverse gas chromatography(IGC) for analysis of cement particle surface characteristic were introduced, and the analyzing results was presented. It is indicated that both polar and nonpolar probe molecules can interact with cement particle surface. As the surface coverage of probe molecules increasing, the dispersion, special and total surface energy of cement particles decrease effectively, but the range of decline tends to be small. The driving force of the adsorption between polar probe molecules and cement particles is acid base interaction in nature, but the surface of cement particles is more basic as a whole. The total surface energy of cement particles appears approximately a normal distribution, showing an energetic heterogeneity characteristic.
