Abstract:Single factor comparative analysis and indoor four point bending fatigue test were used to fulfill a systematic study on three main factors which affect the self healing performance of SBS modified asphalt mixture. The three factors were the properties of asphalt mixtures, the load conditions and self healing conditions. And NfNM method of ASTM D7460 was chosen as asphalt mixtures fatigue failure criterion. The fatigue behavior equation of SBS modified asphalt mixture with self healing compensation considered was regressed out. The results show that the fatigue self healing efficiency is proportional to the amount of asphalt and self healing time, inversely proportional to the extent of the void ratio, damage and strain. When the SBS content(by mass) is 6%, self healing temperature is 50℃ and load is 5kPa, fatigue self healing efficiency achieves optimum. And there is a good correlation between the strain, amount of asphalt and void ratio of mixture and fatigue life with self healing compensation considered.
