Abstract:Concrete specimens with pre made cracks were tested at elevated temperatures to investigate the effect of crack on temperature field of concrete subjected to fire. The model for calculating the temperature of section in cracked concrete was established based on theoretical analysis of heat transfer. The temperatures of section in cracked concrete were calculated by mathematical software MATLAB and compared with the test results. The results show that heat conduction is the main way of heat transfer in cracked concrete. There is an increase in the temperature of measured point in cracked regions in comparison with that in undamaged regions. On the whole, the temperature of measured point increases with the increase of width of crack, and the temperature of measured point away from crack is less affected by the crack. The calculated temperatures are generally consistent with the test results, and the model for calculating the temperature of section in cracked concrete based on theoretical analysis of heat transfer is reliable.
