Abstract:By using a large full scale indoor ring road test on precast block pavement with graded gravel flexible base, the bearing capacity characteristics and mechanical parameters of precast block pavement were studied. The influences of joint width, sand cushion thickness, precast block geometrical dimensions on the bearing capacity of precast block pavement were investigated. The prediction model for permanent deformation(εp) of precast block pavement under different numbers(N) of load was established based on full scale ring road test results. The results show that, as the load increases, the deflection of precast block pavement increases nonlinearly. The critical deflection of precast block pavement is about 195mm when the joint width is 5mm, sand cushion thickness is 2cm and precast block thickness is 16cm. When the aspect ratio of precast block is from 119 to 181, the thickness of precast block is from 8cm to 29cm, the load diffusion coefficient of precast block pavement ranges from 116 to 142. When the joint width is about 5mm, sand cushion thickness is from 3cm to 5cm, the permanent deformation coefficient of precast block pavement is taken as 085. The prediction model for permanent deformation of precast block pavement is εp=16282lnN 5000+1+04821.
