Abstract:In order to investigate the influence of flexural toughness on the shear behavior of steel fiber reinforced self consolidating concrete(SFRSCC) beams, 24 flexural test beams and 16 SFRSCC beams were experimentally studied. Based on the load deflection curves and toughness index, the influence of flexural toughness on the fail mode and shear capacity was clarified. The results indicate that the shear capacity increases clearly with increasing fiber content. An analysis model for the prediction of shear capacity of SFRSCC beams is proposed. The predictions of the model are compared with experimental results, and the proposed model fits very well with the test results. So it is suitable for shear analysis and design of SFRSCC beams.
