Abstract:Waste plastic granules were introduced into concrete as partial replacement of river sands with equal volume. The use levels of waste plastic granule were 0%, 2%, 5%, 7%, 10% and 15% based on the mass of cementing material. The 28d dry bulk density of concrete with waste plastic granules added was tested. The influences of use level of waste plastic granule on the mechanical and bending deformation performances of concrete were studied. Results show that the 28d dry bulk density of concrete with waste plastic granules added is lower compared with that of control concrete. Both the cubic compressive strength(7,28,60d) and axial compressive strength(28d) of concrete increase to the maximum and then decrease with increasing use level of waste plastic granule. The 28d elastic modulus of concrete decreases with increasing use level of waste plastic granule. The bending ductility(28d) of concrete with waste plastic granules added is slightly higher compared with that of control concrete.
