Abstract:Adiabatic tests of several cement based materials were conducted. According to the measured temperature rise, curves of adiabatic temperature rise rate versus age, “time divided by the temperature rise” versus age are obtained. Methods to define the end moment of dormant stage and the onset moment of decay stage are presented. Modified method to predict the final temperature rise is developed according to the test results. A new expression is proposed to simulate the adiabatic temperature rise. The results show that the presented expression is simple in form, and has clear physical meaning of parameters. Compared with the expressions of existing models, it is good at the simulation in the early age. Both methods and the expressions are applicable to all cement based materials.
