Transparent glass sand with different grade were prepared, and its consolidated undrained triaxial compression tests and direct shear tests were carried out. The tests on standard sand with the same condition were also carried out for comparative analysis. The results show that the shear strength is increased with the increase of the relative density. The shear strength of transparent glass sand of standard size is higher than those of 0510mm particle size. The shear strength of transparent glass sand is similar to that of standard sand with the same grade, which verifies that transparent glass sand can be used for simulate natural sand.
