Abstract:Influence of mixing and compaction temperature on volumetric parameters was analyzed for differently graded asphalt rubber mixtures with warm mix additive. Best asphalt aggregate ratios of asphalt rubber mixtures with three different gradations and filler contents were determined by the Marshall test firstly. Mixture samples with DAT H5 were made with different mixing and compaction temperatures. A comparative analysis of volumetric parameters was conducted and evaluated by the rutting test and freeze thaw split test. The results show that the asphalt aggregate ratio determines the technical feasibility of asphalt rubber mixture with DAT H5. The mixing temperature has significant effect on compaction temperature of asphalt rubber mixtures with DAT H5 as well. Based on the criteria of air void, the mixing and compaction temperature of asphalt rubber mixture with DAT H5could be almost reduced by 30℃ compared with the common asphalt rubber mixtures. The high temperature performance of asphalt rubber stone matrix with DAT H5 is ensured, while the water stability decreases somewhat.
