Abstract:Effect of steel fibers on the bond proprieties between reactive powder concrete(RPC) and steel bars was evaluated. The results show that:without steel fibers, the specimen will experience very sudden and quick bond deterioration. The presence of steel fibers will increase the peak bond strength and responding slip, improve the ductility of the specimen, result in the change of failure mode from brittle to plastic, then descending branch of bond stress slip(τ s) curve can be obtained without stirrups. To eliminate the influence of compressive strength fcu, relative ultimate bond strength τu/fcuwas introduced. Empirical formula of relative ultimate bond strength and the responding slip related to steel fiber contents was established, which provide a reference for the engineering design.
