Abstract:In order to achieve high strength and toughness of roadway support in deep mine, a new kind of cementbased composite material was proposed to replace plain concrete spray layer by a polypropylene(thick) fibers. The optimal proportion of the fiber and concrete was obtained based on the mechanical property tests about fiber concrete with different matchings in the laboratory. It indicates that the bending strength, ductility, ductility of material are 0.22 times, 8.1 times and 9.9 times of that of plain concrete respectively. There has been no cracking phenomena in the fiber reinforced concrete in industrial experiment within 3a, while the control saw local cracks and felloffs in 0.5a. The results show that the polypropylene(thick) fiber in cementbased composite materials have the high toughness character which can be applied in roadway support for preventing from the deformation of wall rock safely and efficiently.
