The influences of the type and content of fibers on road performances of SMA at the optimum asphalt content were investigated through selecting two kinds of fibers including cellulose fiber and basalt fiber. For each fiber three contents were selected.Road performance tests such as drainage, cantabro, high temperature stability and water stability were carried out respectively. The test results show that the improvement of road performances of SMA with cellulose fiber and basalt fiber is achieved distinctly with fiber content at the optimum composition of fiber and asphalt.Based on the test results the formulas for the relation between immersed Marshall remnant stability, splitting strength ratio under freeze and thaw and cantabro damage, and also formula for the relation between high temperature stability and drainage damage are put forward.
