Coal gangue was incorporated in the concrete with potential alkali-silica reaction(ASR).The expansion rate and relative dynamic modulus of elasticity of concrete were determined under the effects of NaOH and combined NaOH and NaCl.The damage evolutions and characteristics of concrete with coal gangue were compared with those without coal gangue. The results show that under the effect of NaOH and combined NaOH and NaCl,the concrete damage caused by ASR are mitigated by the addition of coal gangue. The mechanism of mitigation of concrete damage is analyzed.
