A waterborne Ni-based electromagnetic shielding paint for building interior wall based on conductive Ni powders and acrylic latex was prepared. The microcosmic structure of the conductive Ni powders and the coat was studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The influence of modified inorganic bentonite on sedimentation ratio was investigated and its mechanism was also discussed. The content of volatile organic compound and dissociated formaldehyde in the paint was measured. The shielding effectiveness of the coating in far-field region(plane wave) and near-field region(electric field) was tested, and the difference of the shielding effectiveness in different region was analyzed.
