Using fly ash,tan waste(TW) and metakaolin as basic ingredients,KOH as alkali activator,a series of fly ash-based geopolymers were synthesized.Through the test results of compressive strength and the extract content of heavy metals in the geopolymers,it is concluded that the geopolymers synthesized with fly ash and tan waste possess certain compressive strength and excellent solidification efficiencies to heavy metals.X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and infrared analysis(IR) results indicate that the structure of the geopolymers is amorphous.Infrared spectrum shows a obvious change that infrared peak at(1 088) cm~(-1) caused by the stretching vibration of SiO_4 tetrahedra shifts to lower wavenumber.
