The experiment shows that there exist noticeable difference in water requirement among cement powder samples with different size distribution at same fluidity degree,that means different size distribution of powder determines different packing density of it.And a formula of packing density of powder with continuous grain size distribution in paste is proposed.The experiment proves that with this formula the packing density of powder could be calculated as long as the size distribution of the cement were known.
