Traditional fire retardant coatings have few colors.With HHCPE and polyacrylate resin as binder,melamine phosphate and PE as fireproofing systems,some organic pigments and inorganic pigments are added into the fire retardant coatings.Therefore,some colorful fire retardant coatings for steel structure can be made.The influences of types and amounts of the pigments to the fireproof performance and other physical and chemical properties were studied.
