Abstract:On the basis of establishing analysis model of energy consumption in a straw-bale building (SBB), the annual heating energy consumption of SBB in Benxi Liao Ning province, China was simulated with energy consumption software. On the two aspects of different design conditions and at different districts, the annual heating energy consumption of SBB was simulated compared with brick masonry building(BMB). The result indicates that SBB are more efficient and more insulating compared with BMB. Heating energy consumption of SBB can be saved more than 60% in winter. The conclusion is drawn that when the lower design indoor temperature and the higher design outdoor temperature are confirmed, the more energy-savings of SBB are gained.
