This paper deals with comprehensively moisture transfer mechanism, theoretical model in concrete in different ambient conditions and the latest research progress. It is pointed out that self desiccation effect shall be considered in modifying non linear water diffusion equation for high performance concrete. The judgments of fundamental problems of moisture transfer for high performance concrete and research focus for the future in this field are also presented.
