This paper introduced the current conditions of waste disposal and the application of geosynthetics in waste landfills. The geosynthetics used in waste landfills includes geomembrane, nonwoven geotextile and geogrid which are effective in separation, drainage, filtration, gas vent and reinforcement of the sides of landfills. The development prospects of these materials in the field of environmental protection were briefly related.
