Abstract:Poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC)/Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer(ABS) blend is an immiscible system. The compatibility of the blend can be improved by the addition of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE). In this work, the effects of ABS content on the compatibility, tensile strength, bending strength, impact strength, Vicar softening temperature, surface hardness and water adsorption of PVC/ABS/CPE blends were studied. The tensile strength of the blend has a little increase with increasing ABS content. Increasing ABS content, the impact strength, Vicar softening temperature of PVC/ABS/CPE blends are improved, while the bending strength has a small decrease.
