Abstract:This paper talks about the effects of steel fiber cement concrete pavement (SFCCP) on the protection of frost soil, and the control of the thaw settlement and the frost subgrade stable, in the special plateau permafrost region on which the Qinghai Tibet highway goes along. The feasibility and the rationality of the use of SFCCP in such region is analyzed on the base of the inner room experiments, outer door road paving, long term observation and the theory heat calculation, which concluded that we could use the SFCCP as highway pavement in the cold countries such as the frost region to protect the natural frost soil.
