Abstract:The influences of water binder ratio, superplasticizer and mineral blend on the hydration heat of the binder paste were studied by means of hydration heat experiments. The results show that the hydration heat decreases with decrease of water binder ratio of binder paste. The total hydration heat will not decrease with the addition of superplasticizer which contains retarding composite, however the hydration exothermic process is delayed and the later stage hydration is accelerated. Mineral blend can markedly reduce the hydration heat and the hydration exothermic rate, and postpone the arrival time of the highest temperature, particularly the double adding and tri adding. The influence of these three factors on hydration heat will counteract the deficiency of high hydration heat at early stage due to high content and high strength cement. In this way, the influence of temperature stress is alleviated and the durability of concrete is enhanced.
