In this paper, the effect of Pr 2O 3 addition on sinterability, colouration, chemical stability and mechanical properties of Y 2O 3 doped zirconia ceramics was investigated. It is found that small amount of Pr 2O 3 addition has no significant effects on material properties mentioned above. By this way the bioceramics with the colour similar to the natural dentine could be developed. On the other hand excessive amount of Pr 2O 3 could deteriorate their mechanical properties at room temperature and colour.
