Abstract:When air fuel combustion is replaced by oxy fuel combustion in the melting process, the contents of H 2O vapor increase in the fuel gas. This conversion will have great effect on the properties of glass. In this paper the effect of water concentration on the properties of commercial soda lime silica glasses was investigated. Determined include glass transition temperature; glass softening temperature; electrical resistivity and chemical stability. They change with increasing water content. The results are explained considering the state of hydroxyl in the surrounding glass network.
